Will Drafting
With our professional and trained Will writers, we will send you a list of things to consider pre meeting. Then during the instruction meeting, we will guide you through the process. Drafts will be sent to you within 48hrs and final, bound copies available to sign soon after that.
Trusts Written in Will
We will send you fact sheets pre meeting explaining the main types of trusts within a Will that you may wish to consider. The most common ones would be a PPT or property trust to protect the family home, or a Vulnerable Person's Trust. We can also provide simple business trusts if you think you would want to sell your business as a going concern upon your death.
Estate Planning
We can advise on the best way to structure your Will in the most IHT (inheritance tax) efficient way. Legacy Protect Wills & Estate Planning have trusted Financial Advisers whom we can introduce you to if you wish to discuss investments or pensions.
Lasting Power of Attorneys (LPAs)
LPAs really are crucial for ensuring that your voice can be heard whilst you are alive but incapacitated either through injury or illness. It is a misconception that a wife or husband would automatically have the right to advocate for you and your wishes; they can't without an LPA being completed, nominating them as your appointed Attorney and registered with the Office of Public Guardians (OPG).
Business Succession Planning
You may wish to plan for what happens in the event of your death to your business. A simple business trust would allow Trustees to sell the business on your behalf as a going concern, and the proceeds go to your beneficiaries. However, you may decided instead, to nominate Business Executors whose job is to pass the business through to a nominated beneficiary in your family. Depending on the business, it may qualify for a 50% or 100% deduction in IHT via BPR (Business Property Relief).
Protection Insurance
Legacy Protect Wills & Estate Planning are able to signpost you to provide personal protection insurance. This includes Life cover, Critical Illness, Income Protection, Family Income Benefit (that pays a monthly amount to guardians to help raise your children), mortgage protection, home & contents insurance and many others. This really does give peace of mind when planning for the future of you and your loved ones.
Probate Assistance
Legacy Protect Wills & Estate Planning are proud of our partnership with the award winning Laurelo Ltd. They provide an outstanding service dealing with Probate. They can either assist your Executors or act on their behalf. It can be a complicated process with Executors liable personally if they get it wrong. Laurelo take the strain away from the grieving parties and ensure to provide peace of mind to all concerned.
Funeral Plans
We know how stressful and emotive planning the funeral of a loved one can be. To that end, we have partnered with local family company, Drew and Sons Ltd to provide funeral plans to our clients. It really does help to take the pressure off of your family member.
Will Storage
For a small annual fee, Legacy Protect Wills & Estate Planning provide a Will storage service to ensure your Will is in the same pristine, bound condition from the day you sign it, to the day it is needed. A Will can be made invalid if it is damaged, destroyed or defaced in any way. An invalid Will would mean the person would die intestate and the laws of Intestacy would be followed - completely disregarding what we would have meticulously planned.
